smtp.dynamic.net Server Replacement

At 3:00pm PDT, we will temporarily shutdown smtp.dynamic.net and boot up the replacement server. Downtime is expected to be less than 15 minutes while the queue empties and we copy the logs to the new server.  e-mail transmission will be delayed during the switchover, but your emails will automatically queue for the new server.

smtp.dynamic.net

We are having technical difficulties with smtp.dynamic.net and will be replacing the server over the next 48-hours.  Please do not open a  ticket, as we are monitoring this closely. There may be delays in the acceptance and delivery of email from this server. If you receive any bounces with the error “Delayed”, don’t worry. SMTP services are designed to automatically retry and such notifications are informational only.

webmail.dynamic.net Upgrade Status

Last night, we upgraded the webmail server that hosts email for some of our customers. In an effort to ensure that no email was lost, we synchronized the new server several days earlier and just prior to the migration. As a result, you may notice duplicate emails, or emails that you previously deleted. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Attn: Possible duplicate e-mails on webmail

Last night, we replaced the aging server that hosts email for some of our customers. In an effort to ensure that no email was lost, we synchronized the replacement prior to the migration. As a result, you may notice duplicate emails, or emails you previously deleted. Please delete any unwanted items. We apologize for the inconvenience.

webmail.dynamic.net Server Upgrade Completed

Upgrade Completed at 06:30PM PDT.

On Thursday evening, starting at 5:30PM PDT, we are upgrading the email server hardware that runs webmail.dynamic.net.  Mail services will be down for approximately two hours while your data is synchronized to the new system.

There will be no loss of your existing email and incoming mail will be queued for delivery once the migration is complete. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE AT OUR ALISO VIEJO DATA CENTER

SC Edison has scheduled an electrical outage, Friday August 16th at 22:00 thru Saturday Aug. 17th at 06:00 PDT. Because our servers are protected by UPS and standby power generation, the  disruption is not expected to affect the servers and services hosted in our Aliso Viejo Data Center.

While most of our customers and services operate from our new data center in Irvine, e-mail services (smtp, email and webmail), legacy websites and ProStores are still delivered from our Aliso Viejo facility.

Network Solutions Outage Blamed on Hacking

Network Solutions says a hacking attack is causing service disruptions that are affecting its DNS and website customers.

The company says it’s facing a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in which hackers direct thousands of computers to access a website all at once. The fake traffic makes it difficult for legitimate visitors to get through.

If your domain uses Network Solutions DNS servers, visitors may not be able to connect to your web site or send you email even if you are hosted elsewhere. Most Dynamic customers user our DNS services – even if they registered their domain through Network Solutions – and are not affected by this outage.

DNS Issues Resolved – No longer allowing global DNS lookups.

Good Afternoon!

Dynamic Concepts has identified the issue with our DNS servers slowing down. At this time we’ve disabled global DNS lookups for machines that are not physically running on our network. This means that the only systems that can communicate with our DNS servers are systems that reside on our IP Blocks.

If you’re using our DNS servers at home it is highly advised that you changed to your own internet service provider DNS server or you can use 8.8.8.8 which belongs to Google.

Thank you for your patience,

Dynamic Concepts Engineering Team.

20:30 Status Update. We are still in the process of importing the data to our new hardware. It has taken longer than expected. We will let the import process continue over night. We are aiming to go live tomorrow by 12:00 PM PST. We have decided to keep stores closed for now to maintain data integrity. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

17:00 Status Update. The DB import is taking exceptionally long to decompress and import. Once done, we will be bringing up the stores. We aren’t resting until we are live!
